ORIGIN STORY

ONE BLEND.
CHANGED EVERYTHING.

We are not anti-ethanol. We are anti "no-choice-at-the-pump". Here is the short version of how a fuel policy became a citizens' movement.

  1. 01
    Apr 2026

E20 becomes the default at pumps nationwide. Choice quietly disappears from the nozzle.

  2. 02
    May–Jun 2026

LocalCircles (public survey): share of pre-2023 owners reporting >10% mileage drop rose from 45% (May) to 66% (June); unusual wear & tear reports rose from 29% to 55%.

  3. 03
    Jul 2026

Raipur consumer forum order reported in media: vehicle replacement/refund after E20-linked stalling (liability reported ~₹21 lakh).

E20 Janta Party goes viral on Instagram & X after CJP ends — 'What if all bike/car owners come together?'

  5. 05

Taxi & transport associations announce Parliament march over E20 rollout and GPS mandates.

THE GROUND REALITY

WHAT OWNERS
ARE ACTUALLY FACING.

Headline percentages below are from LocalCircles public surveys (June 2026), also reported by national media. See Sources.

01
66%
pre-2023 owners: >10% drop

MILEAGE COLLAPSE

LocalCircles (June 2026) found 66% of pre-2023 petrol vehicle owners reporting a fuel-efficiency decline of more than 10% — up from 45% in their May 2026 wave. Among mileage respondents, 23% reported a drop above 20%. These are owner-reported survey findings in the public domain, not our invention.

02
55%
unusual wear / repair reports

INJECTORS, FILTERS, PUMPS

The same LocalCircles June 2026 survey found 55% of respondents reporting unusual wear and tear or higher repair need — nearly double the 29% in May. Workshops separately describe clogged injectors and filters; that workshop pattern is anecdotal, while the 55% figure is from the published survey.

NO REAL CHOICE AT THE PUMP

When E20 is the practical default at nozzles, “choice” is theatre. E0 (100% petrol) may exist at some stations, often scarce or costlier. This site’s demand — sell E0 alongside blends with clear labelling — is a policy ask, not a survey statistic.

04
?
who pays when it fails

WARRANTY & INSURANCE FOG

Wear from fuel chemistry is rarely what motor insurance covers. Warranty positions for non-E20-calibrated vehicles remain grey for many owners. Keep invoices and written dealer replies — that is process, not a percentage claim.

THE HIDDEN BILL

LESS KILOMETRE. MORE SERVICE. SAME TAXES.

AT THE PUMP

Lower energy density in ethanol blends means you refill sooner for the same commute — a quiet monthly tax on every working rider and driver.

AT THE WORKSHOP

Injectors, filters, pumps, seals. Repair frequency is up in workshops serving older petrol fleets. That money leaves household budgets, not PowerPoint slides.

AT THE POLICY DESK

Import savings and farm ethanol are real goals. They do not require deleting E0 from the pump. Consumer choice and national strategy can coexist.

MANIFESTO

FIVE DEMANDS.

Sincere in substance. Satirical in packaging. Read them slowly — this is what the movement is actually asking for.

01

FUEL CHOICE

Sell E0 (100% petrol), E20 and E85 side by side at every pump. Stop the forced feeding.

02

FAIR PRICING

No punishing surcharge on E0 versus blended fuel. Choice must not be a penalty.

03

TRANSPARENT LABELLING

Exact ethanol % clearly displayed at every nozzle. No fine print. No mystery blends.

04

PUBLIC DATA

Publish costs, benefits, mileage and engine-impact studies of blends. Show the working.

05

INDEPENDENT STUDIES + ACCOUNTABILITY

Independent long-term studies on mileage, wear, emissions & maintenance. Protect consumer rights. Nitin Gadkari must answer.

"We are not asking for free fuel. We are not asking for subsidies. We are asking for one basic consumer right: give Indians the choice to buy 100% petrol."

— E20 JANTA PARTY
EVIDENCE & COUNTER-CLAIMS

TWO STORIES.
ONE TANK.

Citizens deserve both the policy pitch and the workshop floor. Transparency means publishing the data — not asking drivers to trust a press release while their odometer contradicts it.

WHAT MOTORISTS REPORT

  • Sharp drop in km/l on daily city and highway runs
  • Stalling, misfiring, slower pickup with AC on
  • More frequent injector / filter / pump work
  • E0 hard to find; when available, often costlier
  • Older vehicles treated as collateral in a national experiment

WHAT OFFICIAL LINES SAY

  • E20 cuts oil imports and supports farm ethanol
  • Lab / industry bodies say compliant cars show no abnormal wear
  • Mileage hit for some older vehicles framed as “slight”
  • Claims of widespread engine damage called unfounded
  • Return to unblended petrol as default is not on the table
REPORTED LEGAL SIGNAL · JUL 2026 · MEDIA COVERAGE

National media reported that the Raipur District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission directed replacement (or refund) of a Maruti Grand Vitara hybrid after repeated stalling linked to E20 use — total liability reported around ₹21 lakh. That is a reported court order covered in the press, not a claim invented by this website. Link in Sources.

CITIZEN ACTION

WHAT YOU CAN
DO NOW.

No membership cards. No quizzes. Practical steps for owners who paid for a vehicle and taxes — and refuse to be quiet about a forced blend.

  1. 01

    DOCUMENT EVERYTHING

Keep mileage logs before/after E20, fuel receipts, service invoices, and photos of clogged filters or injectors. Evidence beats argument.

  2. 02

    ASK YOUR DEALER IN WRITING

Request a written position on E20 compatibility and warranty cover for your exact model year. Silence is also a data point.

  3. 03

    USE CONSUMER FORUMS

If the vehicle repeatedly fails after E20 and the seller/manufacturer ducks responsibility, District Consumer Commissions exist for a reason.

  4. 04

    DEMAND E0 AT THE PUMP

Ask OMCs and pump managers for 100% petrol availability and clear ethanol labelling. Choice that only exists online is not choice.

  5. 05

    FILE RTIS

Seek public data on blend percentages, testing protocols, and impact studies. Policy that spends your tank should survive sunlight.

  6. 06

    AMPLIFY WITH FACTS

Share documented experience — not rumours. Point people to the Sources and Demands on this website. One Demand. One Right.

A NOTE ON SATIRE.

This is NOT a registered political party. E20 Janta Party is not recognised by the Election Commission of India, is not contesting any election, and does not solicit votes or election funds.

This website is an independent satirical citizens' movement and consumer-awareness site inspired by the E20 fuel-choice debate. The five demands are sincere. The "party" aesthetic is satire — fair comment under Article 19(1)(a). Percentages on this site come from public surveys (e.g. LocalCircles), not from our own invention — see Sources.

Bottom line: read this the way you'd read Private Eye or The Onion — the wrapper is a joke, the substance is a serious consumer-rights argument.
