After weeks of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests at Jantar Mantar ended with the resignation of then Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a new satirical label — E20 Janta Party — surged across social media in late July 2026.
National outlets reported rapid follower growth on X and Instagram. The campaign’s core pitch mirrors what many motorists have been saying for months: keep ethanol blends if the government wants them, but restore a real option to buy 100% petrol (E0) at ordinary pumps, with clear labelling and public data.
Several posts also demanded the resignation of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, linking accountability to the E20 rollout. The government line in Parliament has been that it has not received “widespread or substantiated” complaints of engine damage from ethanol-blended petrol.
