Did the town hall happen? Yes. On 1 August 2026, AAP held the “National Town Hall Against E20” at the Constitution Club in New Delhi. The hall was full. Outside, people were given sugarcane sticks as a protest prop — “sugarcane should be eaten, not put in your car,” one visitor told reporters.
What did Kejriwal demand? Three clear points, as reported: (1) pumps should sell both pure petrol and E20; (2) E20 should be cheaper than pure petrol; (3) petrol prices should come below ₹84 a litre. Vehicle owners and others spoke about mileage drop and repair costs.
Online reach: AAP said more than 7 lakh people watched live on the party’s YouTube channel. That is AAP’s claim, reported by Hindustan Times and others.
